Waveform
The Eagle SDI e-Viewfinder built-in waveform can help cinematographers assess the exposure of the current image. The waveform represents the brightness across the horizontal direction of the image, but unlike a histogram, the waveform aligns with the width of the image from left to right. Therefore, using the waveform correctly can help cinematographers achieve optimal exposure for the image.
Waveform On/Off
[Menu–>Tools–>Waveform]
Default:[Off]
With the default settings, pressing the [REC] button can quickly turn the waveform on or off.
The waveform has three sizes. When [Medium] and [Large] are selected, the waveform will display in the lower right corner of the screen. When [Full] is selected, the waveform will be displayed in the lower third of the screen. Photographers can choose the most suitable size according to their needs.

Default: [Medium]
Notice Some camera allow adjusting the Look (LUT) of the SDI output. When the SDI output is LOG, if the waveform shows clipping, the image is truly overexposed and cannot be recovered in post-production. However, when the SDI output has a LUT applied, even if the waveform shows clipping, the image may not be overexposed and can be recovered in post-production.
Notice When both the waveform and histogram are enabled simultaneously, the histogram will overlay the waveform . To view the waveform, please disable the histogram.
